I like Grand Victoria Hotel. The location is strategic and close to a big mall of Lembuswana. The room is standard, the food is good. The view from the restaurant on roof top of 7th floor was great. We also had the celebration of New year 2012 in that restaurant. The service is friendly. What I wanna say is this is a good 3 stars hotel in Samarinda, East Borneo - Indonesia. We noticed that the wood floor was cracked to the point that we were concerned that if we stepped on the cracked part that it would puncture our feet. The other concern with the room was that you had to hold down the lever to flush the toilet. The bar sink only had one setting meant the water would shoot out at you. Breakfast was delivered at the time that we selected. We were surprised that the egg was just an omelet wrapped in a wrap. The fruit was just an apple and an orange. We didn't eat it. We would have loved more of the homemade jam but were very disappointed that the in-house whipped butter was Gay Lea. The homemade granola paired well with the yogurt. Both days, we splurged on the Mimosas. The menu only gives you one option of one carafe. Sadly, I am a coffee drinker and my wife is a tea drinker, so that option limited us. Later on, we left the room and took off the DO NOT DISTURB sign. Our room was next to the housekeeping cart resupply room, which was always noisy, but we also noticed that we could hear banging from the room next door.
